What You Need to Start Investing
To begin investing in the securities markets, an investor will need:
- De-mat Account is an account with a SEBI registered Depository Participants (DP) of a recognized Depositories. This account is used to hold the investor’s securities in demat or electronic form.
- Depository Participants are agents of the Depository. National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL) and Central Depository Services (India) Limited (CDSL) are two depositories in India.
- Trading Account or Broking Account: with a SEBI registered stock broker of a recognized Stock Exchange. This account is used to buy and sell securities on the Stock Exchanges.
- Bank Account to make or receive payments while carrying out trades in securities market
